Crawl to Basement Digout Spoil: Soil Staging on Tight Lots

Crawlspace digout with a soil pile on a narrow lot

A crawl to basement digout makes a lot of soil. Book a 10 or 12-yard dirt bin and tell us about truck access.

Digout spoil is a dirt job

Formwork scraps stacked apart from a soil pile

The soil goes in its own 10 or 12-yard dirt bin, not in mixed junk. Tell us the soil volume when you book.

On a tight lot, plan where the bin and the truck will fit. Tell us about slopes, soft ground and overhead wires.

Separate construction trash

Keep formwork, plastic and packaging out of the dirt. Those can go in a junk bin.

When a bin fits

We bring the bin and take it away again. You do the loading. The 20-yard junk bin is the usual place to start. We also have a 15-yard bin, but it is often sold out, so ask when you book. Concrete, dirt and other heavy materials go in their own 10 or 12-yard heavy bin, kept out of junk. A combined concrete and dirt load is sometimes available for an extra fee.

A bin on your driveway or yard needs no permit. Street, boulevard or lane placement can need a City permit in some cities, so check before you book. If you need one, send us the dates and we will time delivery.

A junk bin is the wrong place for batteries, electronics, propane tanks, paint, solvents, pharmaceuticals or asbestos. Asbestos is never permitted in any Trash King bin. Search Metro Vancouver Recycles or call 604-732-9253 if you are unsure.

Our disposal bins and what not to put in a bin pages cover the standing limits.
