Deck Board Flip: Surface Only vs Full Structure Rebuild Waste

Old deck boards stacked beside an exposed deck frame

A deck board flip only removes the surface. A full rebuild adds joists, posts and footings. Plan the bin for the job you have.

Surface only vs full rebuild

Deck rebuild with joists, posts and footings exposed

A board flip leaves deck boards and fasteners. A full rebuild adds joists, beams, posts and sometimes footings.

Treated deck boards are not clean wood. Tell us about them when you book. Metal fasteners go to scrap once separated.

Footings and soil

Concrete footings and dirt go in a heavy bin. A surface flip usually fits a junk bin.

When a bin fits

We deliver, you fill the bin, and we haul it away when you are finished. The 20-yard junk bin is where most people start. We also have a 15-yard bin, but it is often sold out, so ask when you book.

Driveway and yard spots need no permit. Street, boulevard or lane rules depend on your City, so confirm before you book. Share the permit dates with us and we will time the drop off.

Do not load batteries, electronics, propane tanks, paint, solvents, pharmaceuticals or asbestos into a junk bin. Asbestos is never permitted in any Trash King bin. Search Metro Vancouver Recycles or call 604-732-9253 if you are unsure.
